About This Cause
Daisy Chain Project’s mission is “to support and empower autistic and neurodivergent individuals through the provision of holistic person-centered services, whilst promoting training, wellbeing, inclusion and acceptance regionally and nationwide." Launched as a community initiative for CYP with autism, we provide holistic support from our 5.5 acre farm site in, Norton. The charity has continually evolved in line with beneficiary need. Annually, we offer a variety of specialist provision to over 4000 autistic (and associated neurodevelopmental disorders) children, young people, adults and families inclusive of: - out of school hours activity clubs - respite care - complex case support - key worker support - alternative education provision - independent living skills - excursions - outdoor activities programme - parent support groups - mental health and well-being - autism/neurodevelopmental disorders training - employability - supported work placements - benefits advice & money management Autism is a lifelong, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them. This can create societal barriers for those with autism leaving them with feelings of isolation and loneliness. This can lead to the decline in mental health and research shows that over 70% of autistic people have had a mental health problem. We deliver our services on a face to face basis across the region and nationwide in respect of assisted information via a staff and volunteer call centre.
