Mission Statement
Partner India’s Mission is to create a more just and equitable India, an India where poverty levels have been significantly reduced, where every person has equal opportunities regardless of gender, caste or socio-economic background.
About This Cause
With over 15 years of experience on the ground, iPartner India is a catalyst helping vulnerable communities make the journey from ‘Marginalised to Mainstream’. Over the past 15 years, iPartner India has worked with more than 90 partner organisations and projects across 22 states of India. Currently our focus areas are: Education Health Vulnerable Children Sports Women & Livelihoods Environment iPartner India also runs two direct implementation projects: 1) Rakshan - Helping young girls re-claim their lives and preventing them from becoming victims of trafficking. Rakshan works with the entire ecosystem in Rajasthan to break the cycle of Child Trafficking. Girls are groomed for a life as a sex worker. The whole family relies on the income from their daughters’ sex work, with the fathers and brothers often acting as pimps who take care of all the arrangements. Started by iPartner India, Project Rakshan generates livelihood for the family members, links adolescent girls and boys to scholarships and strengthening existing governance bodies like the Village Protection Committees, Child welfare committees and Childline. The programme works with the whole community to garner support for the girl child, thereby benefitting the community at large. 2) Roshni - where we aim to empower girls living in the slums of Rajabazar, Kolkata, through the medium of sport. iPartner India has developed a well-designed programme which ensures a positive change in the lives of young girls. The project aims at breaking gender stereotypes and improving the leadership skills of young girls through football. More than 200 girls have been trained on gender and rights issues and 40 girls have been trained through football. We aim to reach out to 100 more girls in the current year.
