Mission Statement

YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD_ We’re proud to be the only charity set up in memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales and her belief that young people have the power to change the world. Our mission is to empower young people to lead that change through a range of initiatives which unlock their potential, inspire action and create opportunities, ensuring that no young person is left out or left behind. We can’t achieve this alone, by working with young people and partners we can create the change we want to see in the world. Join us today, because our future is safest in the hands of those who will live it.

About This Cause

WHAT IS THE DIANA AWARD? The Diana Award believes that young people have the power to change the world, and we are passionate about finding and celebrating the thousands of young people across the globe who are already doing this. This is the longest running award exclusively for young people through a retrospective nomination process only. We believe this is special. ANTI-BULLYING_ Engaging young people, parents and teachers to change the attitudes, behaviour and culture of bullying by building skills and confidence to address different situations, both online and offline. THE DIANA AWARD MENTORING PROGRAMME_ Our Mentoring Programme supports young people to develop their careers skills, whilst making positive change in their community. YOUNG PEOPLE WITH BLACK AND BLACK MIXED-RACE HERITAGE RE-IMAGINING MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT_ Young Changemakers is a collaboration between UK Youth, Centre for Mental Health, and The Diana Award. Young Changemakers supports young people with Black and Black mixed-race heritage to channel their lived experiences into tackling racial injustices in mental health services in the UK. The project is led by young Co-Producers aged 16 – 25 with a passion for and/or lived experience of mental health issues and racial injustices. It gives young people with Black and Black mixed-race heritage communities an opportunity to reimagine and affect change through the lens of social action.
