Mission Statement
We work with vulnerable people and families who have a variety of complex presenting problems and who are some of the most disadvantaged in society. We believe in working with all people in a way that enables them to take control of their lives and take their rightful place in society. We believe in working holistically with people on their own terms, at their own pace, and to their individual strengths in order that they may achieve lasting and positive change.
About This Cause
The Pilion Trust is a charity delivering a range of services which address the problems of inner city living. Our approach is client led and we aim to provide an accessible, flexible and culturally sensitive service tailored to the needs of the individual. This approach extends to our work with community groups and partner agencies. We work innovatively and holistically with individuals, on their own terms, at their own pace, recognising their individual strengths in order that they may achieve positive and lasting change in their lives. The Trust provides broad access to clients through both community centre based surgeries and outreach activities. Our Projects include: The Crash Pad Youth Shelter Project: The only youth shelter in London supporting young people who are risk of harm if left on the streets. We work with 17 to 23 year olds and we support them around their complex includes which include: Housing, education, training, employment, benefits, life skills, mental well being, physical health, Domestic abuse, gangs, addictions and whatever else life brings that they cannot cope. Ringcross Community Centre: We run a 7 days a week community centre meeting the needs of the local community and the surrounding areas. We have the Elevenses Luncheon Club for over 60s; Tiny Totts Stay and Play for under 5 year olds; Food Bank giving fresh fruit, vegetables and bread to those struggling to survive and manage a home; Clothing Bank including baby clothes, toys, books and household products; Activ*8 Project specialises on women and girls fleeing Domestic abuse and violence. We are a "safe haven" for women who are fleeing abuse. We work 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 10am to 10pm.
