Mission Statement
The Bulldog Trust has provided financial and advisory assistance to charities for over 30 years. Intrinsic to all its work is the ethos of making a real difference to the organisations it helps. The Bulldog Trust embraces the spirit of resourceful giving through initiatives which connect charities with pro bono professional expertise and offer criteria free grants for small to medium sized charities.
About This Cause
Since its inception in 1983 the Trust has been actively involved with a broad range of projects. To generate the greatest impact, the Trust not only offers grants but encourages charities to utilise the broad experience of the trustees, staff and the Engaging Experience Philanthropy Network for strategic assistance. The Engaging Experience Philanthropy Network inspires and supports those individuals interested in becoming involved in the charitable/not-for-profit sector by connecting them with organisations that require their professional skills. The Bulldog Trust aims to support charity in ways that ensure smaller donations create maximum benefit. The grant-making strategy is based on the belief that those running smaller organisations are also those who are best placed to know what their charity needs to move forward. The Trust therefore sets no criteria for its grants but judges each application on its own merit. The magnificent neo-gothic mansion on the Embankment is the headquarters of the Trust and a focal point for many of its activities. Two Temple Place is open to the public during the annual winter exhibitions (January – April each year) showcasing collections from outside London and supporting emerging curatorial talent. It also hosts many of the Trust’s charitable initiatives including the philanthropy network, Bulldog Fellowships, partnership events with other organisations including the Fulbright Commission and third party charity events.
