Mission Statement
Hope for the Young removes the obstacles to young refugees and asylum-seekers' education and well-being through financial support, mentoring, and advocacy.
About This Cause
The Mentoring Project supports young refugees and asylum-seekers aged 16-25 by matching them with Volunteer Mentors who provide tailored one-to-one support according to the young people’s needs. Mentors teach English, help with study skills, build confidence and levels of trust and provide emotional and practical support that creates stability and helps them settle into life in the UK. The Grants and Advocacy Programme supports young people who, due to their immigration status, have no access to student finance to enable them to go to college or university.We provide small grants of up to £4,500 to pay for tuition fees, living allowances and travel expenses, alongside tailored advocacy support to enable them to access and succeed in education.
