Mission Statement

Severn Rivers Trust is committed to restoring and protecting the River Severn and its tributaries. We work to create a healthy, resilient river that supports thriving wildlife, clean water, and strong communities. Through hands-on conservation, research, and collaboration, we tackle pollution, restore habitats, and promote sustainability, ensuring the river remains a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.

About This Cause

Severn Rivers Trust is the only organisation dedicated to the whole of the UK’s longest river, spanning both England and Wales. Established in 2008 as an independent charity, we are committed to protecting and enhancing the River Severn, its tributaries, and streams. With a deep understanding of the region, we lead on collaborative efforts such as the Catchment Based Approach partnerships and deliver large-scale, ambitious projects aimed at improving the river's health. Our work spans habitat restoration, pollution reduction, and supporting the recovery of vital species, ensuring the river is sustainable for both wildlife and the communities that rely on it. Our team is passionate, proactive, and adaptable, driven by the belief that effective change starts with action. We live by our motto, "We get our feet wet," meaning that we don’t just talk about change- we make it happen on the ground. Whether it's through practical conservation efforts, scientific research, or community engagement, we are constantly striving to make a tangible, lasting difference for the River Severn and its ecosystems.
