Mission Statement

Our missions is to ensure everyone affected by sarcoma cancer receives the best treatment, care, information and support available and to create the treatments of the future.

About This Cause

Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. It is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma. Sarcomas are uncommon cancers that can affect any part of the body, on the inside or outside, including the muscle, bone, tendons, blood vessels and fatty tissues. About 15 people are diagnosed with sarcoma every day in the UK, and there are around 100 different sub-types of sarcoma. Sadly, treatments for sarcoma are currently very limited and we need to further our understanding as well as awareness of the disease. To date, Sarcoma UK has funded 56 research projects and invested over £3.5 million into scientific and medical research at institutions across the UK to better understand sarcoma and look for kinder, more effective treatments and outcomes for patients. Since launching in February 2016, the charity's Support Line has helped more than 2,200 individuals across more than 7,400 phone calls, emails and texts to the Support Line team.
