Mission Statement
CRIS CANCER FOUNDATION is an independent non-profit organisation, fully dedicated to facilitating and developing research to beat cancer as a serious health issue and cure cancer
About This Cause
By funding research, through significant partnerships with The ICR London and other reference centres, CRIS is having a positive impact on medical discoveries and making a real difference in people’s lives. CRIS is currently funding 12 wide-ranging cancer research projects, half of which relate to children’s cancer, as well as clinical trials. Since 2018, CRIS is particularly focused on raising funds to invest in a Cancer Immunotherapy Research Unit at The ICR London. Immunotherapy – involving treatments that harness the body’s own immune system to destroy tumours – is currently one of the most exciting areas in cancer research, showing impressive progress in recent years. The ICR and its hospital partner, The Royal Marsden, have already played an important role in developing immunotherapies for cancer patients. CRIS’s objectives are: *Investing in cutting-edge cancer research projects; *Funding research for rare and underfunded forms of cancer; *Funding translational projects to get new REAL treatments; *Sharing research findings; *Giving hope to those who have heard the dreadful phrase: “I’m sorry, there’s nothing more we can do.” CRIS Cancer current projects Paediatric research projects: 1.
