Mission Statement
A college of Oxford University in the UK.
About This Cause
Mansfield College is one of the youngest and smallest colleges in Oxford University but has a very distinctive reputation for friendliness, openness and inclusiveness. It undertakes teaching and research across a broad range of disciplines for a student community of around 350 undergraduates, post-graduates and visiting students. Established in 1886 to train ordinands for the non-conformist faiths it became over time a multi-disciplinary institution and subsequently a full college of the University in 1995. Mansfield College is committed to widening access into Oxford University, and undertakes significant outreach work to achieve this. Consequently undergraduate admissions are over 90% for the state school sector - over 30% higher than the Oxford University average - with high representation from areas of social and economic disadvantage.
