Mission Statement
• The relief of poverty and the promotion of the well-being of asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants, and also of a better and wider understanding of their needs. • To provide help in the London Borough of Southwark for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants who have need of facilities, information and assistance by reason of their health, age, financial hardship or social circumstances with the objective of improving their conditions of life.
About This Cause
Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS) is a charity established in 1996 providing a wide range of practical support to asylum seekers and refugees. SDCAS provides drop in services include: information, advice and guidance; referrals, advocacy and signposting; free hot lunches; practical support; English classes; health advice, mental health support/counselling and health talks; crèche; arts and crafts activities; gardening and allotment activities; counselling/therapies; parenting workshops; social functions; cultural celebrations; day trips; newspapers in different languages; clothing and food parcels; and volunteering opportunities.
