Mission Statement
St George's Crypt has been providing care and support to homeless and disadvantaged adults in Leeds since 1930. We offer food, emergency accommodation, two specialist residential projects, recovery from addiction, volunteering / work experience and skills training for service users & much more.
About This Cause
St George's Crypt provides practical care and support for homeless and vulnerable adults, and families, in LEEDS To meet the basic needs of everyone in a safe, non-judgmental and caring environment. To support people who are living on the streets into accommodation. To help people gain skills and confidence so that they can take an active role in their futures. To enable people to make positive choices in their lifestyle, accessing employment, freedom from addiction. To contribute towards local and wider communities enriched by inclusion of everyone that the community serves. Why the community needs us We offer: 158 Bed spaces, 365 days a year, over eleven projects. Immediate practical support in terms of getting fed, getting cleaned and getting clothed. Opportunities to gain skills, self-confidence and a sense of achievement. Care, compassion and hope. A place in which people can choose to change. Our impact on the community Last year, in our emergency Overnight Centre, we provided 8,539 bed spaces for vulnerable men and women. We also utilised 28 bed spaces each night at our two hostels. During the cold weather last year we provided 461 bed spaces to ensure everyone could have a safe warm place for the night. We provided 70,000 meals across our projects as well as providing food parcels to over 1,100 adults and 560 children in desperate need.
