Our mission is to empower vulnerable women and girls worldwide through access to quality education and vocational training.
About This Cause
WONDER Foundation is a woman-led charity dedicated to empowering women and girls through education. We work with over 30 locally-led partners in 24 countries around the world to help women, girls and their families access the education and support they need to break the cycle of poverty. We also believe in the power of education in its wider sense; raising awareness of the issues facing disadvantaged women and encouraging solutions through research, knowledge-sharing and debate. We partner with projects that have a proven track record in assisting disadvantaged communities through education. In practice, this involves giving girls and young women the training required to enter a high-quality job, enabling them to lift themselves, their family, and ultimately their community, out of poverty for good. It is important that training is appropriate for the local job market. For example, many of the colleges we work with train women in nursing, hospitality or retail. These projects are also run by local people, which is crucial for both community relevance and sustainability. At WONDER, our key driver is to end poverty. But these projects also provide essential personal development support, ensuring students are resilient enough to complete their education and use it to improve their own lives.
