About This Cause
Mind in Harrogate District (MiHD) was founded in 1973 as Harrogate and District Mental Health Association. It is a registered charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) with a Board of Trustees who oversees its work and who are responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation. The organisation is based in The Acorn Centre on Station Parade, Harrogate, but also operates an outreach programme across the Harrogate district. Some of our programmes and activities are designed to work preventatively, some enhance recovery and others improve the quality of life for people with complex needs. They all encourage active engagement to help people keep learning, connect with each other and contribute to their communities. Our activities support participants to embrace the Five Ways to Well-Being, namely: • Connect • Be active • Take notice • Keep learning • Give
