Full Fact is a team of independent fact checkers campaigners who exist to fight bad information by finding, exposing and countering the harm it does.
About This Cause
Bad information ruins lives. It promotes hate, damages people’s health, and hurts democracy. We exist to fight it, by following four tried and tested steps: Step 1: we fact check Usingpublicly available data, a bit of maths and the help of ourfact checking technology, we dig into statements in the media or online which don’t look right. Step 2: we campaign If a politician or journalist makes a statement in public, we demand that they have the evidence to back it up and correct themselves when they get it wrong. We work alongside statistics companies and journalists to improve standards of honesty and transparency - and we urge them to do better when it's not good enough. Step 4: Our supporters Our mission can only go as far as the people who support it. Millions of people are reading our work, sharing it with their friends and donating to help protect people from bad information.
