About This Cause
upReach is a social mobility charity founded in 2012 with a vision of a society in which everyone has equal opportunity to reach their full career potential, regardless of socioeconomic background. We support young people from less-advantaged backgrounds to broaden their horizons, raise their aspirations, and develop the skills and networks required to access top graduate jobs. upReach delivers a three year programme of tailored support to undergraduates from less-advantaged backgrounds ("Associates"), helping them to develop the elusive “soft” employability skills and professional networks that are crucial to securing top jobs. Our Programme Coordinators build long term relationships with Associates, helping them take the day-to-day steps needed to realise their career potential. We work in close partnership with universities, and employers who are committed to improving the diversity of their graduate intake. Together with our partner employers, we organise dedicated Insight Days and work experience opportunities, and offer our Associates mentors to provide further support. We are proud to have been recognised in 2022 for transforming social mobility; winning The Queen’s Award for Enterprise as one of only nine winners in the “Promoting Opportunity” category, and winning Charity of the Year-Medium at the recent Third Sector Awards.
