Mission Statement
Our mission is to #MakePeriodPovertyHistory We want to make it easier for women and girls across the world to live, work, and study with dignity, comfort, and confidence, whilst also protecting the planet by reducing the number of disposable menstrual products in use. We want to see a world where all women and girls, regardless of where they live or their economic status, have access to sustainable menstrual products.
About This Cause
We raise awareness about menstrual cups and partner with other organisations to make them more widely available. We work in the UK and low-income countries. We provide menstrual education, bust menstrual taboos, and provide menstrual cups to those who would benefit most from having access to them. We sell menstrual cups in the UK to help fund our work in low-income communities. For every cup we sell, TWO are donated to people who can’t afford their own. We also lobby and advocate for menstrual cups – our plan is to encourage and influence governments, multi-national NGOs and large global charities to include menstrual cups in the work they already do with millions of women and girls all around the world. The first menstrual cup was invented in the 1930s, but despite their many advantages most people haven’t heard of them and in many parts of the world they are not widely available. Menstrual cups are an ingenious alternative to pads or tampons. They are made of soft medical-grade silicone and the remarkable thing about them is that they are reusable and each one lasts for 10 years! In addition menstrual cups are: safe, convenient, comfortable, reliable, environmentally friendly, and cost effective.
