Mission Statement
The MRI Foundation contributes to a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) people can achieve their full potential and have equal access to employment, training, education, financial services, healthcare, housing, places of faith, and public places and services.
About This Cause
The MRI Foundation strategic objectives are: (1) the promotion of socio-economic inclusion amongst LGBTI people by preventing them from becoming socio-economically excluded and relieving the needs of those who are. We do so through various programmes including: the provision of emergency housing for homeless LGBTI people, the delivery of small business training to LGBTI people in poverty, activities that reduce isolation such us peer support groups; (2) the promotion of equality and diversity by: - the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity or intersex status; - advancing education and raising awareness in equality and diversity; and - conducting and commissioning research on equality and diversity issues in relation to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people and publishing the results. We achieve this strategic objective by changing people's minds and hearts through the media, policy and research.
