Mission Statement
We believe that the real change for girls will come through the women who live in each country, and know the issues affecting the girls there. Therefore, our goal is for every country to implement the campaign locally: local women talking to local girls about the issues of concern in each country. National organisations in each country register the volunteers in a database. Schools can view the profiles of those volunteers and send invitations for them to come and speak to their students, either in person or virtually. They are all part of the strong Inspiring Girls International network, linking all the countries involved and benefiting from each other’s experiences.
About This Cause
We connect amazing women role models from all walks of life with girls aged 12-15 in the school environment to demystify the various job roles in each sector and to address gender stereotypes attached to certain job roles (and school subjects) at an early age. Face-to-face sessions Volunteers go into schools or attend specific ‘speed-networking’ events to talk to a group of girls about their life, career, choices and experiences. Online sessions We have created a new online video library where girls can find recorded interviews of volunteers talking about their careers. This enables girls in regions or countries without access to women in a particular field of work to access the same information wherever they are. We are developing this into live online sessions, accessed by schools for their classes.
