To empower individuals experiencing overwhelming distress who are at risk of self-harm/neglect due to living in unsafe/uninhabitable environments achieve spatial/personal change, improve health/wellbeing, reduce homelessness, isolation, re-engage with life/work. To create transformational change to improve the lives of PWHB today and tomorrow. Whilst increasing the knowledge and understanding of Hoarding to professionals and wider communities.
About This Cause
HoardingUK (HUK) is the only charity covering the whole of the UK solely dedicated to supporting people impacted by and with hoarding disorder behaviour. We provide specialist support to aid and empower PwHB and have been doing so since 2008. HUK offers both therapeutic and practical support to PwHB who are often experiencing overwhelming distress, at risk of self-harm, and self or institutional neglect. Further risks include threats or enforcement by statutory authorities/landlords, (eg. injunctions or eviction) structural damage to dwellings, infestation, disease, legal conflict, neighbourly disputes loneliness and isolation.
