Mission Statement
OLIVE BRANCH AID – HUMOUR, HOPE AND HARD WORK! So much more than a very busy food bank, we are a community of volunteers with a culture of respect, humour and hope. We meet emergency needs, for food, baby goods or furniture as well as helping with long standing problems with housing or fuel debt. OLIVE BRANCH AID – IN THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY Built on the belief that our society is only as strong as the support it shows to its most vulnerable, Olive Branch Aid volunteers set up and ran a busy food bank in the pandemic. Now we are growing and have expanded what we offer to beyond food parcels. We meet and empower our service users to meet every day situations, hold face to face advice sessions and advocacy and the time to help them through some of the toughest challenges they have ever faced. OLIVE BRANCH AID – A HOLISTIC APPROACH When is a foodbank not a foodbank? When it’s so much more. Our service needs to evolve. We are always looking for new, ingenious ways to help, advise and support people on their journey from crisis to empowerment, beyond a food parcel. OLIVE BRANCH AID – NEEDED MORE THAN EVER Olive Branch Aid would really rather not exist but as the thousands of food parcels we have distributed demonstrates there is a pressing need. Unfortunately, on people’s lives this need is getting worse.
