Promote the mental health of military and emergency service veterans through the provision of emotional and welfare support; advance citizenship by promoting and offering volunteering opportunities.
About This Cause
• Promote the mental health of military and emergency service veterans through the provision of emotional and welfare support; signposting to relevant services/other charities where appropriate; providing access to therapeutic activities and spaces with the aim of improving their mental health and well-being; and providing opportunities in a safe space, for social engagement and interaction with other veterans, with the aim of reducing feelings of social isolation (which is extremely common amongst veterans) who find it hard to integrate into the community after being discharged from the services. Advance citizenship by: o Promoting and offering volunteering opportunities for all, highlighting the benefits of volunteering in the community, and promoting the voluntary sector in general by raising awareness of relevant voluntary organisations in pursuit of our purposes, and, o Providing spaces at reduced rates or free of charge when able to do so, for other charities to use for meetings or to further their own purposes.
