We are tech workers seeding climate action in companies, organisations and industries through deep, self-organized community building and support.
About This Cause
Our vision is a transformed tech industry that makes climate a priority, and takes responsibility for social impacts and ecological limits. To do this, we provide benefit to tech workers who are interested in or actively seeding climate action in companies, organisations, and industries by... 1) creating, managing, and moderating a diverse, online space for social learning, support, and community 2) organizing events and other programs (most are online, but some events are in-person events) 3) defining ways to take climate action at work in the tech industry and create educational guides and resources which are shared on our website and internal wiki How our members take action: They green their craft: using resource & carbon-conscious strategies to build efficient products & services. They speak up and create signals for cultural change: breaking climate silence & normalizing climate conversations in tech. Bringing up climate in meetings, town halls, requirement discussions and at conferences. They advocate and influence: creating structural change at work by influencing leaders, decision makers, and others to take climate action and popularizing climate priorities to scale across the industry by sharing knowledge in talks, writing, organized events, or through mentoring.
