Mission Statement
JNF UK is Britain’s oldest Israel charity and has supported the Zionist pioneers since the days of the Second Aliyah. Today we are working to ensure that the people of Israel who live in the underdeveloped south of the country can also share in the Jewish State’s success story. The Negev is an impoverished area, lacking infrastructure and community cohesion. While the central and northern areas of Israel are well supported by numerous charities and organisations, the Negev has received significantly less support and this is why JNF UK is seeking to make a real difference in this region. JNF UK is active in every area of Israeli life. We are supporting schools and hospitals, bringing high-tech industry to remote desert towns and ensuring that gifted children do not have to settle in Israel’s overcrowded centre in order to pursue their passions. Every penny raised by JNF UK is sent to a project in Israel. Our projects are relieving poverty; bringing hi-tech industries to remote desert towns and promoting community development to transform the cultural life of the Negev. JNF UK is advancing environmental protection and providing relief to those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. JNF UK aims to draw new life to the Negev and better the lives of those who call the region home.
