The advancement of education within the University of Oxford by the provision of debates and the maintenance of Library and Reading Room facilities.
About This Cause
The Oxford Literary and Debating Union Charitable Trust (OLDUT) is a registered charity. Since 1975 it has owned most of the buildings used by the student-run Oxford Union Society (OUS), including the libraries and debating chamber. OLDUT delegates fulfilment of its charitable educational objectives to the Oxford Union Society. The receipt and use of donations by OLDUT will be used primarily to secure the purpose-built premises that are used by the Oxford Union Society to hold debates and speaker meetings, and to maintain a library and reading rooms.
