Mission Statement
It’s thanks to our supporters that we can continue to give our care to thousands of local people living with life-limiting illnesses each year. We care around the clock, every day of the year, at the hospice in Wroughton, in people’s homes and care homes around Swindon and north Wiltshire. We are dedicated to delivering the very best in end-of-life care, and support services for the families and the people closest to our patients, but we can only do that with our supporters help.
About This Cause
At Prospect Hospice we offer unparalled end-of-life care services for a community of more than 300,000 people in Swindon, Marlborough and north Wiltshire. Our vision is for excellent, personalised and compassionate care for everyone affected by a life-limiting illness. In 2017-18 Prospect Hospice cared for and supported more than 7,300 people, as patients, carers and family members, through a broad range of services developed to bring care, comfort and confidence at life’s most difficult time. For patients who depend on our care, there are teams of nurses, doctors and therapists to support them at the hospice in Wroughton, at the Wellbeing Centre in Marlborough, in their own homes and care homes and through a palliative care team at the Great Western Hospital. Carers and family members also access services designed to help their coping when a loved one is helped through our care. Increasingly we work in close partnership with other care-focused organisations, and specifically with local health and social care professionals, with the shared aim of bringing the best possible care to people in at the end of their lives. We are a charity, funded primarily by our local community. Last year it cost more than £8.4m to provide the care and raise the funds to provide our care our patients and their families depend on.. We receive less than 30 per cent of our income from statutory organisations such as the NHS – the rest we raise ourselves. Since 1980 Prospect Hospice has provided the only dedicated end-of-life care service for people living in our community – bringing care, comfort and confidence, around the clock, every day of the year.
