Mission Statement
Kentish fosters wellbeing and learning through a community centred, hands-on approach to caring for animals and the land.
About This Cause
Kentish Town City Farm was the first city farm to be introduced into the UK in 1972, setting standard for good practice, pioneering many services and incubating the now national Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens. Located in an area of high deprivation & population density, we offer children, young people and those with special needs the opportunity to have fun, develop life skills & increase connection to the natural world around them. We currently run 11 programmes including; Young Farmers Club (weekend volunteering for under 8 to 16's) Holiday Playschemes (Activities for children ages 8+ ) Pony Club (weekly riding and care lessons for local disadvantaged kids) Riding therapy (children and adults) Farm therapy (adults with special needs and mental health issues) Daily tours (schools & colleges) Food for thought (weekly sessions for children & families) Pottery Club (after school club) Community Gardening (led by volunteers) Under 5's drop-in. We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities and a busy Friends of the Farm group who plan and implement three annual festivals and weekend activities year round. The farm is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Entrance is free to ensure accessibility to all.
