Child Poverty Action Group is the leading charity working to prevent and end child poverty in the UK, for good.
About This Cause
Established in 1965, CPAG represents and supports the 4.5 million children (31%) and their families in the UK living in poverty. We work to understand what causes poverty, the impact it has on children’s lives, and how it can be prevented and solved – for good. We are based in London but work across the UK and have expertise across subject areas crucial in the fight against child poverty, including social security and education. We have a significant track record. In the past, we worked collaboratively to lift a million children out of poverty. We provide advice, training, and information so hard–up families get the financial support they need through our complex social security system. We also work with children and families who have lived experience of poverty to make sure their experiences and voices are heard by decision-makers and reflected in solutions to child poverty, through our youth panel.
