Mission Statement
King's College School, Wimbledon, is a world-leading independent day school for boys aged 7-18, and girls aged 16-18. We are a friendly, energetic and purposeful community which prepares pupils to lead joyful and fulfilled lives, and to make a positive contribution to the world around them – now, and when they venture beyond our school gates.
About This Cause
Founded by royal charter in 1829, as part of the university of King’s College London, intellectual endeavour and a progressive spirit have always been at the heart of the life of King’s College School, Wimbledon. Our pupils achieve outstanding outcomes in public examinations and their co-curricular pursuits, but a true King’s education is so much more than this. Kindness, inclusivity, and our deep commitment to our wider communities, are at the centre of school life. King’s extensive partnerships and outreach programme reflects a strong belief in the benefit of educational partnerships and a permanent commitment to sharing our resources with the local community. For over 30 years we have worked in partnership with more than 20 local maintained secondary, primary and special schools and each week over 420 King’s pupils enjoy volunteering with community projects. Our school motto, sancte et sapienter (with holiness and with wisdom), encapsulates the importance we place on both the mind and the spirit of the whole person as we prepare our pupils to forge their own path in the world beyond King’s, with the confidence and heart of our lion, guided by their learning and strong values.
