Mission Statement
The Hike With Mike Foundation believes that no one battling mental illness or suicidal thoughts should wait for the support they need. That's why we every penny we raise goes towards funding counselling for those in need within 48 hours. Current waiting lists on the NHS are around 19 weeks - many having suicidal thoughts do not have this long to wait so we look to address that by sourcing and funding private counselling for those most at risk.
About This Cause
Every day in the UK, 18 people chose to take their own life. That's 18 people who feel like their only option is to no longer carry on. Suicide is and remains the biggest killer of men aged under 45. Current NHS waiting lists for help are around 19 weeks, but many don't have this long to wait. Here at the Hike With Mike Foundation we raise funds via a variety of channels. All the funds go into a pot meaning that if someone needs help they can contact us directly and within 48 hours we will fund an initial 6 counselling sessions for them.
