Mission Statement
The Aims of our Playgroup • To recognise parents as their child’s main educators, building a positive relationship with them to ensure we meet the needs of their child/children. • To create a safe, happy and stimulating environment where children can develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills. • To provide a broad, balanced curriculum that encourages the all round development of each individual child and which will give a good foundation for successful learning throughout their lives. • To provide a safe and healthy environment and encourage responsible behaviour and good hygiene practices. • To encourage and support children to reach their full potential, becoming independent and confident while considering and respecting others and their surroundings/environment. • To provide equal opportunities for everyone, respecting and valuing differences. • To encourage staff to continue professional development, increasing knowledge, skills and experiences. These aims will be achieved through having well qualified and motivated staff who will build good relationships with parents/carers and all children. This will provide them with a starting block for your child’s individual knowledge and understanding of the world around them. They will then provide pre-planned purposeful play and responsive planning to extend and support your child’s individual learning and development. In our playgroup children are surrounded with opportunities through play, indoors and outdoors, for learning experiences to encourage their holistic development across the key areas of the Curriculum for Excellence, which are: Health & Wellbeing Supporting them to become: Literacy and Language Maths and Numeracy Successful Learners Expressive Arts Confident Individuals Science Responsible Citizens Technologies Effective Contributors Social Subjects Religious and Moral Education
