About This Cause
Our charity, Fares4Free, is dedicated to supporting veterans and their families by providing free, person-centered transportation to medical, mental health and therapeutic appointments. We offer safe, relaxing journeys that help alleviate the stress and anxiety often associated with these necessary trips. Our trained outreach support drivers (OSDs) and volunteers ensure that service users reach their destinations on time, improving their engagement with treatment plans, mental well-being, and overall quality of life. By addressing the specific needs of veterans, particularly in rural communities where transport can be scarce or unavailable at short notice, our charity fills a vital gap. The service also provides much-needed respite for family members who may otherwise serve as primary carers and drivers. Every journey includes not only transportation but also emotional support, further helping to reduce anxiety and isolation among our veterans. Our impact extends across Scotland, and with continued funding, we aim to reach even more veterans, enhancing their mental health and well-being through our bespoke service delivery
