Mission Statement

Life House Foundation for Children is a non-profit, partnering organization that provides the services necessary to empower groups in the holistic development of at-risk children, their families, and under-supported populations.

About This Cause

Life House Foundation opened its doors in 2003. Our goal was to help develop and support Chosen Children of Promise in Nairobi, Kenya. We soon found out that we could reach more families and began impactful partnerships and projects in Kenya, Mexico, and Uganda. All of our programs target at risk children and families. Chosen Children of Promise (CCP), works with children and families living in the Kawangware and Ngando slums of Nairobi Kenya. We help foster relationships, develop support and find monthly sponsors for children that are apart of the sponsorship program in order to place them in loving local Kenyan families. We take care of the physical, mental, educational and psychological needs of 250+ children (3 years old to 18 years old) and their care-taking families. We say care-taking because in many cases the children we help have lost a parent do to medical issues, poverty, or other tragic incidents. Consequently we re-connect them with a relative. CCP has multiple programs. 1) Child Sponsorship. A $50 sponsorship provides opportunities for orphaned or abandoned children to go to school, have something to eat, and medical care while they are living with their extended family. 2) CCP Academy. The program opened a school to enhance their children's academic education so that one day they may become leaders in their community. The school also provides practical education skills to the parents and guardians so that they may lead a fulfilling and self-sufficient lifestyle. 3) CCP also has a program that targets adolescents. We call it ROPES (Rites of Passage Experience) as it focuses on aiding each student in their transition into young adulthood. 4) CCP Medical Clinic. The medical clinic is in the slum of Kawangware to provide medical access not only to the children and homes we work with regularly, but also to the broader community in general. Our program in Baja California, Mexico is Fundacion Uniendo Lazos (Uniting Ties Restoration Home). It is a residential center that targets single mom's who are struggling with substance abuse/addiction. The program lasts six to 18 months and provides a safe home for each mother's children in a facility across the street so that they may focus on their sobriety and know their children are safe and being cared for as they recover. Our Clean Water Project initiative exists to deliver clean water because we believe that every human being deserves access to basic necessities. Our goal is to see a world where every person has access to clean water, health, and opportunity. We use our resources to equip and empower locals to build water wells for their communities. Our work in Uganda is through Little Dreamers to build an innovative, and replicable education model that makes lifelong learning a reality in Uganda. We believe the future success of the African continent lies in its ability to hone the skills and talents of its young people. However, the current education system is not designed to facilitate skills building. The system is majorly focused on rote learning. Through Little Dreamers, we are transforming Ugandan education into a successful and meaningful experience for rural and peri urban children ages 3-12 years old.
