About This Cause
The mission of KIPP St. Louis is to develop in all of its students the strong knowledge, skills, and character traits necessary to succeed in high quality high schools, colleges, and the competitive global world beyond. Our goal is ambitious but clear—we will help our students climb the mountain to and through college. KIPP—the Knowledge Is Power Program—is a national network of tuition-free, college-preparatory public charter schools. KIPP schools are united by a common mission, a commitment to excellence, and a belief that if we help children develop the academic and character strengths they need for college and choice-filled lives, they will be able to build a better tomorrow for themselves, for their communities, for us all. KIPP builds a partnership among parents, students, and teachers that puts learning first. With an extended school day and year, and a strong culture of achievement, KIPP is proving what is possible in public education. KIPP schools play a part in building a better tomorrow for educationally underserved students and proving that demographics do not define destiny. KIPP provides an education for children living in every zip code within the city limits of St. Louis and targets students living in areas without access to high-performing school districts within the city of St. Louis.
