About This Cause
Mighty Writers teaches Philadelphia kids, ages seven to 17, to think and write with clarity so they can achieve success at school, at work and in life. Our free programs help combat the literacy crisis in Philadelphia, where nearly half of high school students drop out and some 50% of working-age adults are functionally illiterate (they can't read bank statements, fill out job applications or easily comprehend news articles). It is our vision that five years from now, Mighty Writers will have created a citywide community of confident young Philadelphians who can express themselves with clarity and achieve success at school, at work and in life.
