Mission Statement
The purpose of the La Raza Lawyers Association of Solano (LRLAS) is to provide a forum for communication among attorneys interested in promoting the professional advancement of Latino lawyers and the social and civic advancement of the Latino community. To provide a mechanism for concerted action in support of the cultural values, economic interests, and social dignity of the Latino community. To maintain the technical skills of Latino attorneys through sponsorship and promotion of legal education programs. To provide and promote awareness in the Latino community regarding legal issues that affect the community. To do all other things necessary and appropriate for the advancement of these purposes and the welfare of its members.
About This Cause
Solano County High School Scholarship - For the past 20 years, La Raza Lawyers Association of Solano has recognized and awarded scholarships to selected high school seniors going on to higher education. The scholarship application is open to all seniors of Latino/Hispanic ancestry graduating from any Solano County public high school going onto higher education. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, promise of achievement, community service/work experience and financial need. The scholarship program is designed to provide our professional encouragement and public recognition to high school seniors of Latino/Hispanic heritage entering higher education. The scholarship is awarded irrespective of immigration status. The Association has previously awarded approximately 108 individual scholarships, amounting to approximately $66,000.00. Each year we are amazed and humbled by our incredibly deserving youth, we hope you will join us.
