Mission Statement
Milestone Foundation provides drug and alcohol addiction treatment to adult men and women experiencing chronic substance abuse issues. We offer a continuum of services, including homeless outreach and overnight shelter, medically managed detox, residential treatment, transitional housing and aftercare programs. The mission of Milestone is to provide the best quality services to empower individuals with substance abuse problems to attain stability, dignity, recovery, and an enhanced quality of life. We use evidence-based treatments designed to help those suffering with long-term alcoholism or addiction find safety, community and recovery—even if they feel that they have failed at past attempts at sobriety. Milestone serves those in need regardless of age, race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or mental physical handicap. Founded in 1967, Milestone is licensed to operate by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
About This Cause

Milestone Foundation provides emergency shelter, detoxification, residential and outpatient care to individuals suffering from late-stage alcohol and drug addiction. Programs use evidence-based models that treat clients with respect and dignity, emphasize accountability and self-responsibility, and treat the whole person, not just the addiction. As a provider, Milestone serves adults in need regardless of age, race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or mental or physical handicap. We do not refuse care to individuals suffering from alcoholism or other drug abuse because of frequent program use, relapse history or discharge status. Programs are licensed by the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
