Mission Statement
Our mission is to invigorate audiences, nurture healthy communities, and drive economic vitality in the region, stewarding our Historic Theater and delivering high-quality entertainment, lifelong learning, and shared experiences in our venues. Through the New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF), we aim to inspire audiences with thought-provoking cinematic stories from visionary talents in independent filmmaking, and to provide a platform for emerging artists to advance their craft. Our vision is to enrich, entertain, and inspire all through world-renowned and community-based programming in beloved gathering spaces.
About This Cause
As one of the largest performing arts organizations in the state of New Hampshire, The Music Hall (TMH) is an economic catalyst, generating $15 million annually in economic impact (of the $70 million generated by arts and cultural organizations in the Seacoast NH region). Founded as a nonprofit in 1987, TMH offers 52 weeks of programming in our 900-seat 1878 Historic Theater and 115-person Lounge, and utilizes our Members Club and Ticketing Hub to provide top quality service to more than 120,000 people annually, from nearly all 50 states and beyond. In 2024, with a staff of 35 full-time and 60 part-time, supported by over 300 volunteers, TMH offered 519 events, including 167 films and 135 live performances in the Historic Theater as well as another 210 live events in The Lounge. Included in this is our beloved School Days Series, which introduced more than 6,300 young people to the joys of live theater, as well as the New Hampshire Film Festival, screening 100+ films for more than 1,500 patrons in just 4 days in October. Live events featured musicians from many music genres, authors, comedians, dancers, and thought leaders. The range of programming and ticket prices offered helped TMH work toward our goal of attracting broad audiences and serving greater numbers of NH residents, while offering a number of free and low price ticket programs to help ensure our programs remain financially accessible.
