Mission Statement
The Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County is a non-profit organization that works in conjunction with community agencies such as law enforcement, county attorney’s office, child protective services, medical and mental health providers, and victim advocates in the pursuit of the safety, health, and well-being for children who may have been a victim of a crime. With offices in Portsmouth and Derry, New Hampshire, the Child Advocacy Center investigates on average some 350 allegations of child abuse each year. About This Cause
The Child Advocacy Center provides a safe environment for the evaluation of alleged physical and sexual abuse for children 3 to 18 years of age. We coordinate public, private, and community partners to ensure that the safety, health and well-being of children come first. Since opening our doors in early 2000, we have provided professional services to over 7,900 children and their families at no cost. How much a society values its children can be measured by how well they are treated and protected. Our Vision • We believe our multidisciplinary team approach is the best way to serve the needs of children and their families impacted by child abuse. • We will always respond to requests for our services. • We will coordinate multidisciplinary teams for the child’s benefit. • We will coordinate ongoing support services to the children and their families. • We will educate our community and partners to prevent child abuse.
