Mission Statement
Hope Faith-Homeless Assistance Campus works to alleviate homelessness and poverty in Kansas City, Missouri by providing basic necessities and assistance, as well as, providing critical services and programs to empower individuals experiencing homelessness and at-risk individuals to become self-sufficient and independent.
About This Cause
In 2004, Hope Faith began with the simple mission of serving lunch to homeless and low income neighbors. Now, Hope Faith has grown into a one-stop homeless assistance campus that has a multitude of amenities and programs to reduce the amount of time individuals are experiencing homelessness. Hope Faith provides for daily immediate needs such as food, showers, clothing, laundry service, behavioral health, crisis prevention/diversion, social work, and other essential services. As well as collaborative office space(s) and operational support for anchor partners that provide free vision and medical care, and additional social and human services. We are in continuous collaboration with external partners and service providers to offer the best possible solutions to empower individuals and break the cycles of homelessness and poverty. We feel everything begins with Hope, figuratively and literally. That includes our 4 programs. Each of these programs weaves together into a larger narrative. Not only are these programs designed to assist our guest’s success path, some also will provide a hand-up through education, practicum-work, and finally job placement/career services. With these programs we will help our guests become contributing citizens to our Kansas City Community. HOPE CUTS is our Barber & Beauty Salon. We provide our guests with a full-salon experience from our fully licensed on-site location. HOPE CYCLES, the first bike space in Kansas City operated by individuals experiencing homelessness, provides bicycles, training, and vocational opportunities to people experiencing homelessness and at-risk individuals. HOPE FEEDS is a Community Culinary Kitchen designed to provide nutritious meals to our guests. Through amazing partnerships, we are able to serve two (2) meals a day, five (5) days a week. HOPE GROWS is an Urban Farming Initiative designed to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to our guests, the community, partnering restaurants, and Kansas City’s Farmers Market. Our long-term goal(s) are to provide vocational opportunities for our guests to learn the art of Horticultural & Agricultural Science, then take those skills and obtain a career in one of those fields.
