In our North American office, we focus on endangered species and the role whales play in a healthy, resilient global ecosystem, with a mission of amazing people with the wonder of whales and dolphins to inspire global action to protect them. #SavethewhalesSavetheworld

About This Cause

WDC, Whale and Dolphin Conservation, is the leading global charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins. We have a platinum-rating on Guidestar. Whales act as the ocean’s gardeners, supplying nutrients to phytoplankton through their poop! A healthy phytoplankton population... - produces 50% of the world’s oxygen - sequesters TONS of carbon - is the base of the ocean food web Researchers believe that if we can increase whale populations, it may help reduce some of the negative impacts of climate change. The role of whales is so significant, our vision of a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free is not a noble gesture, but a necessary goal for a healthy planet on which humans and wildlife can survive and thrive.
