Mission Statement
At the North Country Animal League (NCAL) our mission is to promote compassionate and responsible relationships between humans and animals. The NCAL team works tirelessly toward this goal, by offering animal adoptions, education and outreach, spay/neuter programs, support of cruelty prevention, and the sheltering of homeless animals. With approximately 600 adoptions and over 6,000 visitors each year, we recognize the importance of the role we play in our community and in Vermont.
About This Cause
North Country Animal League is a limited-access, no-kill shelter. Our animals come from a variety of sources. We work with nearby town officials handling stray and unclaimed dogs and cats, rescue organizations that transport animals from high-kill shelters throughout the country, and owners who can no longer care for their pets. Every animal that comes to NCAL receives a medical evaluation, spay or neuter, vaccinations, a microchip, enrichment, and love.
