Mission Statement
In partnership with nature, YES nurtures leaders who champion the wellbeing of our Richmond community.
About This Cause
Since 1999, YES has become a well-established and major promoter of health and wellness practices reaching 500 under-represented Richmond and West Contra Costa County residents each year. YES engages youth and adults in outdoor programming through five complimentary programs: 1) the Summer Camp & Camp Days program that supports and sends 200 children each year to overnight, residential summer camps, and provides subsequent day outings in local open spaces; 2) the Camp-to-Community youth leadership program for teens ages 14-18; 3) the Family Camp program that provides entire weekend camping retreats for families; 4) the Adult Leadership program that cultivates local adults become change-makers, leaders, and peer educators. All of YES’ services utilize profound experiences in the outdoors to catalyze personal and community growth.
