ACA New England advances the camp community by providing resources and fostering partnerships, which support professionalism, safety, excellence, and increased access to camp experiences.
About This Cause
The American Camp Association, New England is a 501(c)3 organization that accredits camps and serves as the hub for camp information, resources, and all things summer camp in New England. Nearly 400 ACA Accredited camps in New England offer a huge range of activities, opportunities, and settings. Summer camp experiences provide: healthy, developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences, discovery through experiential education, caring service to the community and the environment, and opportunities for leadership and personal growth. We fulfill our mission and advance camp excellence by: Promoting and advocating for the value of a quality camp experience as part of every child’s on-going education, Providing the most comprehensive and reliable camp-related resources in print & online, Administering the ACA Accreditation program throughout New England, Educating camp professionals and camp staff and furthering best practices in the field by hosting an array of excellent educational opportunities—including the largest professional Conference in the region for owners, board members, administrators, directors and staff, * Offering resources to assist families in choosing a best-fit camp and in understanding the many unique benefits of a summer camp experience for children.
