Mission Statement
United Way of Greater Fall River (UWGFR) believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to create a good life. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing people to invest in the community where their resources are needed most. Through a well-developed campaign that unites all stakeholders, we advance the health, education, and financial stability of our community. United in Purpose, we strive to address the problems that adversely impact the most at-risk population in the most efficient, effective, and economical manner possible, eliminating waste and duplication of efforts.
About This Cause
United Way of Greater Fall River (UWGFR) provides economic support for programs that advance health, education, and financial stability in the Greater Fall River area. These are our pillars of focus, and they cyclically fuel one another to encourage a positive path forward. A quality education helps secure gainful employment which provides enough income to support an individual and their family. Once these puzzle pieces are in place, a healthy lifestyle can flourish. United Way of Greater Fall River’s Annual Campaign is a fundraising vehicle for supporting programs and initiatives that promote this roadmap to a better life. Agency partners who receive grant funding from UWGFR undergo a comprehensive review process conducted by volunteers to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal health, and report twice annually on program impact. UWGFR also provides support for disaster relief and recovery on an as needed basis. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a future where we LIVE UNITED.
