Mission Statement

Our mission: “To inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.” Our Vision is to end generational poverty in Greater Lowell. Our Values: Commitment Excellence Fun Integrity Teamwork Our organizational values provide a foundation that informs decision making at all levels of the organization. They are core to our recruitment and recognition of Board members, committee volunteers, program volunteers and staff. They are integrated into all aspects of our youth development programs. Our Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell offers children, teens, and their families the most extensive and affordable youth development programming in Lowell. With over 320 young people attending our program each day, the Boys & Girls Club meets a critical need in our community for a safe place for children to learn and have fun, make friends, and build positive relationships with caring adults. We provide youth development programs to all youth ages 8 to 18 regardless of ability to pay our low registration fees ($30/school year and $5 for teens). During the school year, the Club is open Monday through Friday 2 pm to 8 pm. During the summer, the Club is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm and Teen Nights are held three evenings per week until 8 pm. Our youth development programs focus on the following three Impact Areas: 1. Academic Success, 2. Healthy Lifestyles

About This Cause

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell provides youth development programs to all youth regardless of ability to pay our low registration fees ($30/school year and $30/week during the summer for access to all programs). The majority of our members come from low income or very low income households, 93% are considered ethnic minorities. We focus on the following Impact Areas: • Academic Success (homework help, technology, college preparation, art, music) • Healthy Lifestyles (sports, fitness, dance, daily meal program, nutrition education) • Good Character & Citizenship (leadership clubs, community service, job readiness, youth of the year program) Our Impact: All of our members benefit academically, physically and socially from our programs, and for some, their experience is life changing. “The Club has helped me in ways beyond my imagination.
