About This Cause
The Charles River Center is a private, nonprofit human service agency providing advocacy and direct services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1956 by a group of parents of children with special needs, Charles River has long been recognized as a leading agency in Massachusetts where excellence is pursued and high standards are maintained. Our programs aim to help individuals reach their highest possible level of independence, enabling them to lead fulfilling and productive lives and participate more fully in their communities. Today, Charles River provides programs and services to over 950 families in the Greater Boston area.
