MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY INC

Boston, Massachusetts, 02109 United States

Mission Statement

The Museum of African American History in Boston and on Nantucket is among the leading museums of its kind and preserves some of America’s most impressive historic and cultural landmarks. The historic sites tell many centuries of American stories that remain largely unknown to most people. It is the Museum’s responsibility to ensure that these buildings, and related programming, are preserved and continue to inspire educational attainment and advancement for African Americans and others for generations to come.

About This Cause

The Museum is the only institution in New England whose principal mission is to preserve, conserve and interpret the contributions of people of African descent and those who have found common cause with them in the struggle for liberty, dignity, and justice for all Americans. Stewards of three National Historic Landmarks in Boston and Nantucket, the Museum owns seven historic buildings.
