Mission Statement
Family Health Center of Worcester's mission is to improve the health and well-being of all residents in the Greater Worcester area, especially culturally diverse populations, by providing access to affordable, high quality, integrated, comprehensive, and respectful primary health care and social services, regardless of patients’ ability to pay.
About This Cause
Family Health Center of Worcester (FHCW) is a Joint Commission Accredited, Federally-Qualified Health Center that has been providing high quality, comprehensive health services for low-income, culturally and linguistically diverse Greater Worcester and South Worcester County Massachusetts residents for 48 years. FHCW is a Patient Centered Medical Home that provides culturally competent, patient-centered primary medical care, dental care, behavioral health services, infant/early childhood mental health services, urgent/same-day care, refugee/immigrant health services, Worcester Health Care for the Homeless programs, HIV/AIDS integrated care program, O/B prenatal care and delivery program, vision services, pharmacy, lab, radiology, outpatient treatment for opioid addiction, Centering Pregnancy group prenatal care, Baby Café breastfeeding support, WIC nutrition program, health education outreach, and school-based health services at 7 public school locations in Worcester. To assure patient access to care, FHCW offers the following wraparound enabling services: health benefits advising (multilingual Certified Health Navigators), health education outreach, certified medical interpretation and cultural case management, nursing care management, chronic disease care coordination, transportation/emergency food vouchers, and linkage to community-based support services. FHCW provides care for over 35,000 low-income, culturally-diverse patients 55 languages at 17 locations in Worcester, Webster, Southbridge, and Millbury, Massachusetts regardless of ability to pay.
