Mission Statement
We have been in operation for over 41 years, building community by educating youth, using the arts as creative expression, supporting community efforts. We have been described as building a mini united nations as our neighborhoods served are so diverse. We support citizens from 5-95. We teach all ages about health, exercise and good citizenship habits. We are currently expanding our building from the "one room" schoolhouse by 800 feet to accommodate more programming , build a computer lab and build in storage space. We are most proud of our continuing partnerships with the arts community, colleges and other community partners. HYCC is well known in the Highland Park area of Roxbury and beyond.
About This Cause
We are a grassroots non profit meeting community needs since 1967. The Center has a history of forming sustainable partnerships to provide relevant learning experiences for all ages from youth to the elderly. We are transforming lives by building community through arts, education,recreation and dialogue. HYCC is committed to providing education, cultural,and recreational programs for community youth and adults, recognizing and celebrating the rich diversity of the community and providing a forum for residents to work together to improve the quality of life in the roxbury Highlands neighborhood.
